Dean College Students Invade Boston!

Dean College recognizes how hard their students work. And that’s why their social media team decided to send two Dean students and a guest into Boston to see a couple of events last weekend. Olivia Rodrigues (Freshman, Dance major) and her guest went to the Citi Wang Theatre to see So You Think You Can Dance Live in Boston. Liz Feenan (Freshman, Environmental Sciences major) went in to see the Boston Celtics play! The tickets were won on an online social media ticket contest. Both Olivia and Liz and their guests had great times and even gave us these pictures to post! Dean will be giving lots more away to their students on Social Media Week at Dean, December 3-7, 2012! Make sure you’re a fan on facebook (facebook.com/deandifference) or a follower on twitter (twitter.com/deancollege) to get social and win some prizes!

Spotlight’s on David Quinn, Football Linebacker & Business Student

Dean College continues their spotlight series, where students, faculty & alumni are introduced to the Dean community.  This spotlight is on David Quinn, Linebacker for the Dean Bulldogs football team.  David, spotlight’s on you!

Name: David Quinn   Age: 20   Hometown: Sudbury, MA Major: BS of Business with a Concentration in Sport Management

What are your professional goals when it comes to sports and academics?

“Academically, my goals are to graduate my Bachelors Degree with at least a 3.9 GPA and to receive a Masters Degree shortly after.  Once I have completed my Masters, I hope to work for a professional football organization.  After gaining some valuable experience, I want to open up my own athletic performance facility.”

If you could meet one famous athlete, who would it be, And why?

“I would want to meet Michael Jordan because of how he played the game.  He’s a man who showed up and gave it all he had every single day.  In doing so, he became the greatest basketball player the world has ever seen.  His will to win was unbelievable to watch, which in turn became something that I have embodied in my life.  By witnessing his success, I learned to live my life to the fullest, strive for perfection and be the best me that I can be without allowing anyone to break my spirit.”

Three Interesting Things About David:

“I am one of the first people in history to receive third degree burns from an MRI without having any metal in my body.”

“I have achieved a 3.975 GPA while balancing Football, Community Adviser, Peer Tutor, RHA Program Coordinator, Business Club and Student-Athlete Leadership Team responsibilities.”

“In my spare time I like to examine philosophical questions about life and my environment.”
